Our guides help HR teams plan international hires. The relokate team researches, reviews and approves every page before it goes live, and is responsible for what we publish. We use AI tools to help with drafting.

relokate publishes general information about German immigration law to help HR teams plan international hires. It does not replace a legal assessment of an individual case.
relokate works from official sources: the statutes on gesetze-im-internet.de, announcements in the Bundesanzeiger, the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the Federal Employment Agency and Make it in Germany, plus court decisions. Many pages link the sources they rely on directly; we are adding source lists to the pages that don't have them yet.
relokate re-checks key pages at least every 6 months and immediately when the law changes, for example when the Federal Ministry of the Interior publishes the annual EU Blue Card salary thresholds.
Found an error? Write to hello@relokatehr.com or use the “Report an error” link at the end of each guide. relokate checks every report and corrects verified errors promptly.
relokate is not a law firm. Our content is not legal advice for an individual case. Binding decisions are made by the competent authority; for a legal assessment of a specific case, please consult a specialised attorney. We can put you in touch with our partner attorneys.
The same applies to our free tools, such as the visa pre-check: they give an automated, standardised screening based on your answers, not a legal assessment of the individual case.
We have prepared our content to the best of our knowledge and belief. We cannot, however, guarantee that it is correct, complete and up to date for your specific case.
In 30 minutes we look at your case and tell you what it costs.
