The Wohnungsgeberbestätigung (landlord confirmation) is a form your landlord or property manager must complete and sign to confirm that you have moved into the property. It's legally required for your Anmeldung. The form includes the landlord's name, the property address, and the move-in date. Most landlords are familiar with this requirement and will provide it on or before your move-in day. If you're staying temporarily (hotel, Airbnb, friend's place), the host or property owner must still provide this confirmation for you to register.
Why it matters
You cannot complete your Anmeldung without this form, and you cannot do anything else (bank account, tax ID, residence permit) without your Anmeldung. Make sure your landlord provides it on day one.
